The British Woodcarvers Association publishes a regular magazine/newsletter for members which they receive through the post: The Woodcarvers Gazette. Back issues are available to download through the website (click here). This is one of the main means of communication with members. From time to time, it is hoped that the BWA can publish small books featuring the work of members. The first book to be published is 'Carving Birch Eggs'.

Carving Birch Eggs is the first book published by the British Woodcarvers Association. About 68 pages long, this book features the carvings of BWA members from the 2015 competition and project to carve something from an egg turned from a piece of Birch. This competition challenged members to tackle the rather difficult shape of an egg and see what sort of carvings they could reveal from the wood. The entries were very varied with some exceptional carvings.
